This is a vintage pressed glass seed or water cup for bird cages.
It is embossed with “HENDRYX” and “USA”.
It is in good condition, especially considering its daily use and frequent
handling in its past while serving a pet canary. Look at the photos carefully.
There is a chip on the right side of the back part that slides into the cage
wire. It doesn’t affect the functionality of this cup, as it still hooks to a
cage, but this shows it was used and not so gently all the time.
Hendryx is a well know maker of bird cages, and was founded in 1874. A
significant number of antique and vintage cages we have available today were
made by this company. If you have an authentic Hendryx cage, it would be nice
to equip it with an original Hendryx cup.
