Vintage Daisy model 179 .177 cal. BB pistol. The overall condition of the gun
I would call good with a few scuffs and believe this would be one the earlier
versions of this model 179 due to no safety or serial numbered markings. I will
do my best to point out some items as I see them and please feel free to
message me with any further questions. No cracks in the grips, but the right
side grip has a small deformation as seen in photo 7. The tab on the rubber
feed follower is missing, but the loading spring is intact and works. The gun
has no issues locking from either the 3/4 cock position or the full position
and fires fine, however when loading a BB through the bottom port the rubber
feed follower seems to push the BB behind the internal catapult mechanism
instead of in front of it therefor does not push the BB out the firing tube
correctly. Perhaps with the feed follower pad missing it may be overextending
the rubber tube to far? To be honest I am not exactly sure? Nice overall early
Daisy and with a replacement part or two would be back in firing order. Thank
you
