Vintage Country Western Fly Fishing Fly Bolo Tie
Approximate Year: 1970’s-early 1980’s
Bolo tie material: Braided cloth
Bolo tie color: Tan
Center pendant: Fly fishing fly cast in lucite/resin
Bolo tips: Silver tone
Brand: Unbranded
Approximate measurements:
Bolo length: Wearable length top where it rests on neck to bottom tips is 18”.
Slide pendant: 1 1/2” long by a little over 1” high.
From a smoke free home.
Bolo tie is in overall good vintage preowned condition. There may be wear
consistent with age, preowned use and storage.
There is a small stain on the cord as shown in pictures. Can be cleaned
or cord can be replaced. I leave that to the buyer.
No breaks, cracks or repairs.
Due to the nature of vintage bolo ties they will need to be straightened as
they will retain some curl (curl memory) from storage.
To straighten the leather or suede cord, move the slide to the very end of the
cords and let the tie hang for a day or two. You can add low heat to help with
the process as well as tying small form of weight to the bottoms to hold the
cords straight and tight. For cloth cords use the same method as above but for
cloth you can lightly mist the cloth portion with water before applying weights
or heat. Be sure to protect bolo slide and tips from contact with water.
