Reborn calcium reactor media is obtained from a sustainable source in the
Western Pacific Ocean. Two Little Fishies pre-rinses their media in RODI water,
as well as manually removing any snail or clam shells before packaging. Reborn
is one of the only calcium reactor media that still uses legally sourced coral
bones and our preferred choice for a low cost calcium reactor media that will
not clog like many others in a calcium reactor.
Unlike many other calcium reactor media, the coarse sizes of ReBorn pebbles
allow for unrestricted water flow and easy diffusion of carbon dioxide, for
maximum efficiency and easy maintenance of the calcium reactor. The naturally
porous structure promotes carbon dioxide penetration assuring a uniform
dissolution rate. ReBorn dissolves completely and won’t turn to mush! These
features combined with its very low phosphate and silicate content mean that
ReBorn is the ideal media to use for promoting the growth of live corals,
clams, calcareous algae, and other calcifying creatures in a reef aquarium.
Directions: Add ReBorn to a calcium reactor according to manufacturer
suggestions. ReBorn is rinsed in RO water prior to packaging so no rinsing is
necessary before putting the media in a calcium reactor. Top off the reactor
with additional ReBorn as needed.
