Used for a Glock 26, I think it could hold just about any pistol. There's a battery powered light held in with a magnet that takes 3 AAA's. A white knob is moved on the top to release the catch. After that, a slight push up on the bottom of the shelf allows for gently guiding it open until the chain holds it open. The light comes on in a dark room as the shelf opens.
