Description: Up for sale is this more unusual powder horn. I say unusual because of the smaller size. It measures 4.75" long. Made from a cow horn the smaller size was often used with pistols and could be stored in a pocket or pouch. Wood cap and two wood plugs on each end. Wood is a dark smooth grain wood, maybe ironwood. This priming horn probably comes from Pennsylvania and dates to the early 19th century or late 18th century. Very nice patina to horn and wood. Please see all pics for details.
