Rare Mendoza Air Rifle, Mexican Made and owned by Dr. Robert D. Beeman (Of
Beeman Airguns). .177 Cal., Rifle measures 39.5" OAL, with a 15.75" break open
pump rifled barrel, shiny bore, fine working action, the Monte Carlo Stock
looks to be mahogany or habillo wood. Still has the warning sticker on the
stock and caliber marking on sticker behind trigger, this comes with sling
swivels and has the original sling with original tape on medal piece of sling.
Checkered forearm, with adjustable rear sight and globe front sight. Left side
of receiver stamped, "MENDOZA HECHO IN MEXICO. There is no model no on the the
piece but the box is stamped Puma on it. Hard rubberized buttplate with white
line spacer. Fine condition, looks unused, shows some light handling wear,
scratches. The Mendoza Brand has a unique history and began in 1911, they made
weaponry for Pancho Villa and also for the Mexican Army and Navy. This comes
with the original box, paperwork still attached to rifle, and inspection report
all in Spanish, it mentions FPS is 870. This also comes with a Mendoza marked
Steel Target with target sheets. Provenance: Has a brass label attached showing
as having come fromthe private collection of R.D. Beeman #883 (Of Beeman
Air-guns) with locking signet steel piece on the cable with his initials of
RDB". A beautiful piece belonging to a top leader in the industry. See photos.
