Coalgan adhesive dressings are indicated for the treatment of injuries caused
by activities carried out during daily life.
These dressings are used in case of superficial wounds (cuts, open blisters,
small wounds). They are suitable for children, adults, pregnant women and are
recommended for patients suffering from congenital (Rendu-Osler, von
Willebrand, haemophilia) or acquired haemostasis disorders (patients on
antiplatelet agents, anti-vitamin K or heparins).
They are bio-active, sterile and made of sodium alginate. It is the alginic
acid, with healing properties, from brown seaweed that gives all its
haemostatic and healing benefits to these dressings. They will promote the
release of calcium which will boost the aggregation of platelets and tend
towards healing. Alginate fibers gel on contact with secretions, bacteria are
trapped thus avoiding microbial contamination.
Once placed in contact with the wound, these dressings will quickly stop
bleeding, lead to healing while soothing the feeling of pain. Two sizes are
available to best match the size of the wound. An essential to have in the
first aid kit to practice first aid.

Coalgan hemostatic wicks are indicated to stop bleeding from the nose, skin,
mouth, or even bleeding from puncture sites. Usable in children, adults,
