A thermal relief valve protects the high pressure washer pump operating within
a safe temperature range to prevent overheating. Pump seals may fail when water
temperature rises above 145º F. The thermal relief valve will open to release
hot water and allow cold water to enter the pump. So it continues to operate at
safe temperatures. If the pump has ever overheated, the thermal relief valve
must be replaced.
Made of brass. maximum. The inlet pressure of the pump is 200 PSI.
