This item is an original letter, dated July 4, 1864 where Edwin Brush, surgeon
of the 2nd Vermont has written home to his wife Amy....missing her on this
glorious 4th of July, wishing he could be there with her...a great description
of his tent and makeshift bed...signed Edwin. Letter is five pages, 6x9, ink
double sided, with original envelope.
Edwin Ruthven Brush Born in Cambridge, Lamoille, Vermont, USA on 15 Apr 1836
to Salmon Brush and Seviah Lovegroove. Edwin Ruthven married Amy R Fletcher and
had 3 children. He passed away on 27 Feb 1908 in Cambridge, Lamoille, Vermont,
USA.Edwin R. Brush Residence Cambridge VT; Enlisted on 7/17/1863 as a Private.
On 7/17/1863 he was drafted into "H" Co. VT 2nd Infantry He was Mustered Out on
7/15/1865 at Washington, DC; Promotions: * Asst Surgeon 10/15/1863.
